AT RESUMPTION,

The Production Manager shall be served with a copy of the daily Raw materials opening – stock from the Store for vital decisions at the Plant level.
He will summon the Supervisors of both Production and Engineering for a briefing of 10 -30 mins. based on the report of the previous shift before the start of operation. Basically on cleaning instructions and maintenance tips. The engineering department shall effect reported repairs. and the QUALITY CONTROL department is invited for on-the-spot checks of Product Co2, density (Brix), etc.

Bottle and water inspection. While the line supervisor shall provide a cover-up for late or absent personnel. Ensuring early Test- running and eventual Takeoff.

■ Prior to takeoff, ensure an accurate account of products in liters before bottling and hourly too. Carbonation check by Q/C.
YIELD =Net Produced /Total product × %.

DISTURBANCE AND EFFICIENCY REPORT.

  • Description of details of downtime.
  • Time started — Time solved.
  • %Downtime.
  • Personnel attendance.

PRODUCTION HOURS

  • Production figure.
  • Hourly product usage.
  • Hourly yield, Cummulative Production figure.
  • Product balance & Brix (density ). Remark.

REJECTS

  • Cases rejected /hour. Uncorked, Unlabeled, and Breakages.
  • Recuperation of products for further Processing.
  • Detailed and endorsed reportage of activities shall be made in the production log/report book by the shift supervisor.

THE CORE VALUES

The Production Mgr. shall prepare a periodic report for the management’s attention.
The followings are the other roles of the Production manager.

● Ability to direct and control operations to achieve budgeted capacity utilization, quality specifications, and cost standard as will be stipulated by the management.

● An interface between the company and the standard organizations eg. Nig. Standard Organization NSO, NAFDAC, etc.

● Implementation of production plans in conformity with overall policies of the organization using techno /commercial skills for effective management of resources.

● Assumption of full responsibility for the plant through the line supervisors.

● Co-ordinate closely with the maintenance team to minimize downtime and to allow for proper preventive maintenance.

● Proactiveness – ability to intervene and control unexpected occurrences or situations for a positive impact on production.

● Inculcating safety awareness in the production environment such as HACCP, EMS, QMS, etc. to all staff, maintaining good housekeeping and presentable workplace with staff adherence to discipline.

● Ensuring proper documentation of breakdown, downtime, and output.

● Ensure accurate material control (Order, Stock, and Usage ) and materials balance reconciliation.

● Implementation of on-job continuous training and assessment for sub-ordinate.

● Must be well grounded in the application of various marketing functions such as Planning, Investigation, /Evaluation, Coordination control, and good effective sound techno/commercial skills.

    Products are produced in anticipation of market consumption hence, it is also important to carry along the marketing team at inception of production planning to enhance acceptability of such finished product in the market place

TYPES OF COLD CHAINS

-SHOCK FREEZERS
Shock Freezers are professional equipment that controls temperature necessary for keeping products fresh for a long time.
While preserving the products the equipment makes to keep undamaged nutritional value of the products after being defrosted. The equipment is made to consists of Double Stage Semi Hermatic compressors. The Shock freezers system allows to lower the temperature very rapidly up to -180°C degrees. Freezing is provided by air coolers of it by blowing over fronted surface of the wagon. This enables to freeze down quickly in cold air flow. The room air should not exceed 35°/-40.°C. Besides, it’s proven to be a low-waste and environment friendly system.

COLDSTORAGE
This system is manufactured and installed with the entire components like it is ready to use. It could be of mobile device.
This system can be disassembled so it can be moved to other places.
Cold storage consist of the following levels and types of preserving:
-Cold-rooms 🙁 +16° / +5°C)
-Cold storage Rooms (+5°/-5°C)
-Freezing Rooms : (-18°/-23°C)
-Shock freezer :(-35°/-40°C) .

DEEPFREEZE ROOMS.
These are for preserving products such as meat, poultry etc. For a long time. They are preserved under temperatures not exceeding – 18°/-23°C. In order to isolate these rooms 150mm width sandwich panels are used.

COLD ROOMS
Cold rooms are used to keep baked goods, chocolates etc.
The cold rooms prevent bacteria from growing. Low ventilation allows workers to work without endangering their health which is very important aspect too.
