Bonds are debt securities issued by government agencies and corporate bodies to raise Capital. While Greenbond are Capital raised specifically for environmental and climatically friendly projects. Greenbond was launched by World bank in 2007.
These include climate change projects that reduces or cause no pollution of Land, Water and Air reducing carbon emissions or conservation of natural resources.
The issuers are mostly development banks, purchasers are typically institutional investors in environmental Social or government mandate and investment focus bodies which could be Investment fund managers, Corporate investors, High networth individuals, Cities and Retail investors.
THE MINISTRY OF ENVIRONMENT gave the Green bond guidelines for specifically eligible Green bond projects to include : Renewable energy , Energy efficiency, Sustainable Land use, Sustainable water management, Clean transportation, Sustainable wastes management, Conservation , Adaptation etc.
CAUSES OF CLIMATE CHANGE.
CLIMATE CHANGE are provoked by Green House Gases, Massive Erosion due to deforestation, Gas flaring, Carbon emissions by automobile, Ranching, Desertification etc.
— DESERTIFICATION eg.the drying up of Lake Chad causing the shrinkage of the Lake reducing drastically the grazing reserves for nomadic Cattles breeders thereby causing their drifting /migration southward of Nigeria resulting in Farmers – Pasteurist Cattles breeders clashes.
— GAS FLARING – There are over 150 sites of gas flare (which could be used as sources for electricity generation and domestic cooking gas )in Nigeria Niger Delta areas. Depriving the country of huge revenue, causing pollution of oil producing areas and the depletion of Ozone layer.
— RANCHING is also a major contributor to the global warming contributing to air and water pollution , livestock are responsible for more greenhouse gas emissions than transportation. Carbon is released when forest are cleared for pastureland. Manure produces nitrous oxide which has about 300%warming potential of carbon. Cattles release large amount of methane from their digestive systems.
GREENBOND PROJECTS :
■RENEWABL EENERGY
These are Solar, Wind, Hydro power, Biomass. etc. All these are clean energies.
While the major causes of carbon emissions sources are Petroleum (fossil fuels ), Natural gas, Coal tars, Nuclear power etc are the causes of the climate change.
Nigeria is enormously endowed with all these sources of energies but are not being maximismally tapped for growth and development.
■ ENERGY EFFICIENCY This include the scaling down policy and rationalisation efforts in energy saving. Institutions such as Government agencies, Business establishment, Schools and other Organisations be made to drastically cut down on useage of electricity. as in A/C, heaters, etc.The adoption of energy efficiency in building construction would lead to job creation as retooling of old and non compliant building etc.
■ SUSTAINABLE WATER MANAGEMENT
The case of water everywhere but none to drink best describes the potable water situation in Nigeria.
■CLEAN TRANSPORTATION
Electric cars commercialisation has started
The various transportation system such as Bus Rapid Transit Schemes, Rails, Mass transportation systems are being considered technologically to be clean energy components. Transportation shift from cars to Bus (mass transit ) is on agenda for tackling climate change.
■CONSERVATION The need to protect the forest Green Cover is crucial and urgent the rapid depletion of our forest is dangerous.
NIGERIA Conservation Foundation are doing all things possible to ensure both Fauna and Flora preservation in the vast areas of land about 700,000 hectares of forest land ‘s endangered animals ( Pangolin, Mandrill, Chimpanzees, Elephant, Vultures etc ) are under the Foundation management .and also working assiduously to restore the forest Green Cover to at least 25% within the next 3 decades.
The more trees planted the lesser the carbon emissions.
■ SUSTAINABLE LAND USE
Agriculture and Aquaculture — The importance of Agricultural sector in stimulation of growth and development is vital. Towards this, is the ever increasing population of over 200million. Agriculture has to be accorded high priority by implementation of minimum of 10% Budgetary allocation. The Tripple A of Availability, Acceptability and Affordability of good quality food for all must be ensured.
MECHANISATION of Agricultural productions will make Food available and provide jobs for the teeming youthful population.
■SUSTAINABLE WASTES MANAGEMENT Efficient waste management impacts on public health, social wellbeing and the economy of the populace
Enomourse wastes is generated annually within the urban and rural areas of the country while recycling of wastes is less than 1%.In the urban metropolis, municipal waste collection sources are from households, Commercial / trade premises, office buildings, institutions and small businesses. It is high time wastes are disposed into organic and inorganic matters for the purpose of recycling.
■ OPEN DEFECATION
Nigeria ranked second amongst countries Practicing Open Defecation globally (WASH NORM 2018 survey. )about 27% of every 50 million . Of the 774 LGovt. in Nigeria only 13 had stopped open defecation. On the average about 7 million toilets will be needed to stop OD.
Open Defecation has economic, social, security and health implications on the National development.
President Buhari launch in November 2018 National Campaign towards Nigeria becoming Open Defecation Free Nation by 2025.

TYPES OF COLD CHAINS
-SHOCK FREEZERS
Shock Freezers are professional equipment that controls temperature necessary for keeping products fresh for a long time.
While preserving the products the equipment makes to keep undamaged nutritional value of the products after being defrosted. The equipment is made to consists of Double Stage Semi Hermatic compressors. The Shock freezers system allows to lower the temperature very rapidly up to -180°C degrees. Freezing is provided by air coolers of it by blowing over fronted surface of the wagon. This enables to freeze down quickly in cold air flow. The room air should not exceed 35°/-40.°C. Besides, it’s proven to be a low-waste and environment friendly system.
COLDSTORAGE
This system is manufactured and installed with the entire components like it is ready to use. It could be of mobile device.
This system can be disassembled so it can be moved to other places.
Cold storage consist of the following levels and types of preserving:
-Cold-rooms 🙁 +16° / +5°C)
-Cold storage Rooms (+5°/-5°C)
-Freezing Rooms : (-18°/-23°C)
-Shock freezer :(-35°/-40°C) .
DEEPFREEZE ROOMS.
These are for preserving products such as meat, poultry etc. For a long time. They are preserved under temperatures not exceeding – 18°/-23°C. In order to isolate these rooms 150mm width sandwich panels are used.
COLD ROOMS
Cold rooms are used to keep baked goods, chocolates etc.
The cold rooms prevent bacteria from growing. Low ventilation allows workers to work without endangering their health which is very important aspect too.
