The role of e-commerce during the pandemic was significant worldover , In China , e-commerce is driving industrial development, expanding local employment and empowering rural residents.
AFCTA offers solution for an integrated African market by means of intra economic regional cum countries trading. creating a platform that foster intra trading providing regulatory framework , policies and laws that seek a coherent African market.
Africa is plagued by diverse crisis in Economic, Political and Social/ Cultural demands which divided it to about 14 economic blocks while 8 were recognised as regional communities by African Union (AU) of which are :
— East Africa Community – EAC
—‘ Economic Community of West Africa States – ECOWAS
— South Africa Development Community SDAC and others.
These regional blocks have different trading laws and agreement using different currencies with different levels of development and GDP. The priority of the regional block is to ensure continuous trade amongst its members , promote diplomatic ties and security aspect amongst selves. All these hinder the potential economic growth of the continents especially in e- commerce services. The hindrances put in place by regional economic communities includes Custom duties, taxes and bureaucracies.
THE ADVANTAGES OF E-COMMERCE. — This cannot be over emphasised especially it has delivery capacity of 24hrs to many more businesses on national territories delivering goods in relatively shorter periods of time at much cheaper prices .
For e -commerce to leverage on profit margin and improve supply chain management there must be the following 5 dimensional integration FACTORS in respect to :
— Free movement of People, Infrastructure integration, Macroeconomics integration, Productive integration and Trade integration . These are pivotal for success of e-commerce – in Africa for ensured development in general.
■ Free movement–
People will move faster and more efficiently promoting tourism and interculturaly.
■ Infrastructure — More route connectivity between countries ( roads,railways, airport and seaports.)
■ Macroeconomics — Stabilisation of Economies , Currency exchange guidelines and law of trade. Less Custom duties and bureaucracy.
■ Productivity — Support quality and quantity in terms of equalising demand and supply with respect to each country’s desire.
■ Trade Integration – Elimination of taxes and embargoes on eventual increase in government subsidies to adopt international trends and requirements which is opportunity for e-commerce to leverage profit margin and improve supply chain management on the continent.
To ease out of the self inflicted conundrum of underdevelopment in Africa due to inefficient management of scarce resources , the need to embrace e- commerce is sine- qua- non.

Africa will become a thriving market for e-commerce as well as e-com companies..
AFCTA driven by digitalisation will offer new and existing SMEs opportunities for expansion nationally and in the continental market beyond regional divide .Legislation in each country will have the responsibility to align to AFCTA’s administration to bridge the various digital divide..

TYPES OF COLD CHAINS
-SHOCK FREEZERS
Shock Freezers are professional equipment that controls temperature necessary for keeping products fresh for a long time.
While preserving the products the equipment makes to keep undamaged nutritional value of the products after being defrosted. The equipment is made to consists of Double Stage Semi Hermatic compressors. The Shock freezers system allows to lower the temperature very rapidly up to -180°C degrees. Freezing is provided by air coolers of it by blowing over fronted surface of the wagon. This enables to freeze down quickly in cold air flow. The room air should not exceed 35°/-40.°C. Besides, it’s proven to be a low-waste and environment friendly system.
COLDSTORAGE
This system is manufactured and installed with the entire components like it is ready to use. It could be of mobile device.
This system can be disassembled so it can be moved to other places.
Cold storage consist of the following levels and types of preserving:
-Cold-rooms 🙁 +16° / +5°C)
-Cold storage Rooms (+5°/-5°C)
-Freezing Rooms : (-18°/-23°C)
-Shock freezer :(-35°/-40°C) .
DEEPFREEZE ROOMS.
These are for preserving products such as meat, poultry etc. For a long time. They are preserved under temperatures not exceeding – 18°/-23°C. In order to isolate these rooms 150mm width sandwich panels are used.
COLD ROOMS
Cold rooms are used to keep baked goods, chocolates etc.
The cold rooms prevent bacteria from growing. Low ventilation allows workers to work without endangering their health which is very important aspect too.
