This is  why USA  is aggressively selling  off   it's own oil stock (West Texas  Intermediate -  WTI )at lower price $57.44/pb   than Nigeria's  light crude ($70.94) as at March  2021 . 

With the advent of COVID 19 crude oil prices slumped sold at below $30 pb in 2020 .
This is why it’s no longer fashionable for OPEC’S quota cutting as every cut in quota is now being met by excess supply offered by USA. The world is going on green and renewable energy sources.
