WHY FEDERAL / STATE GOVERNMENT MUST NOT IGNORE HUMAN CAPITAL DEVELOPMENT – CAPACITY BUILDING IN FOOD PROCESSING TECH (CWG)
■ The CORE WORKING GROUP (CWG) IN THE THEMATIC AREAS OF NUTRITION etc. Must be Reappraised
…….@WufasAgronet, we don’t know more than food.
We earned ” FAO” Top Fan barge.
We applaud the giant stride of the Federal/State Government in transforming the Agricultural sector of the economy to major non-oil National Contributory pool of revenue generation. This is highly commendable, efforts of Government in ensuring sustainable food security and value chain development is very encouraging. Sustainable food security is to ensure that steps are taken to make good quality food available and accessible to every citizen at all times. These and many other achievements have woken up the latent energies in most Nigerians to the wakeup call. WUFAS AGRONet is a Human Capital Development consultancy firm in food processing technology. The passion is to convert the restive youthfulness of our youth to adventurism in Agricultural productivity through Entrepreneurial/Empowerment Demonstrative Seminars in Ethics of food processing technology to stimulate and expose them to essence of processing in exportable food and value chain development.
Education is a key input in agricultural and industrial development. Agriculture remains the surest way to lift millions of Africans out of Hunger, Poverty, Conflict and Desperation – the Maputo declaration of 10% of annual budget must be committed to.
With the current realities of our economy From available statistics the following facts as at June 2018 (AIT moneyline) state as follows:
— The poverty rate in Nigeria is 67% (overtaken India which use to be the poorest. in the world)
— Unemployment rate presently is about 18.8%
— Youth unemployment rate is about. 33.3%
— Manufacturing investment in 4 years is only 4 trillion Naira.this figure compared with our yearly Import of manufactured goods shows we are very import dependent.
— In 2017, 10,291 Manufacturing jobs were lost ( MAN).
YOUTH UNEMPLOYMENT
Our youths especially graduates are either unemployed or underemployed,
most youth are becoming recalcitrant to learning, insisting that their opinion are better as against the weight of evidence to their unproductiveness but prefer IT Leisure, the Capacity Building must be taken to them.
Most states could hardly pay salaries
Only 2.4 million civil servants will benefit from recurrent expenditure of N3.494 trillion in form of salaries and emoluments out of over 198 million Nigerians in the budgeted 9.12 trillion naira in 2018.
OPEC has capped Nigeria oil production to 1.8 mbpd although Federal Government budgeted 2.2mbpd
The fragality and visstitudeness of the economy relying on mono product oil is dangerous and of limiting consequences. Before the discovery of oil exploration at Oloibiri in 1948 there were massive exportation of Groundnut, Cotton, Cocao, Rubber, Palm oil,Fish etc, where are these today?
Nigeria is too Large to be brought to her kneels incessantly on the altar of any extractive product out of so many embedded in her bowel.
The over dependence oñ any product is therefore unnecessary, unwarranted, unacceptable and condemnable.
The above ills can be ameliorated and surmounted with these positive notes.
Nigeria having vast arable land for Agricultural productivities. About 900,000 hectares.
With very good soil and climate.
One hectare of land can yield 8-11 tons of farm produce
Nigeria is highest producer of yam tuber in the entire world about 62%
Our Legumes are in high demand
Fruits and vegetable are in abundance
Nigeria is blessed with virile youthful population.
Blessed still with industrial practitioners trained locally and abroad during our industrial boom before the collapse of industries their experiences must not be allowed to extinct with them such is WUFAS AGRONet.
With the above analysis, building capacity of the youth in “Ethics” of Food Processing Technology in Entrepreneurial/Empowerment demonstrative seminars will re-orientate them to agricultural productivity to produce product of acceptable standard in the international fora.
The magnitude of agriculture should not be limited to planting alone but also globally acceptable processing such as mini(micro) plants of fruit juices tomatoes, orange, pineapple, dairy, tubers etc of which 80% of construction can be source through local fabrication of equipment. Focus must be shifted from export of raw products to value added products (value chain) to create revenue generation, jobs and improved lives.
All these indices should be a pointer to the fact that Nigeria need to develop her Human Capital Base rather than physical development. Agroprocessing –provision of abundant processed food such as massive commercial Production of organic agricultural food,Concentrates, Noddles etc.
There is a lot of vacuum in our balance of trade hence, there must be Policy built on our untapped potentials.
Government initiative in Anchor borrower’s scheme is laudable and has open Nigeria into the league of eminent rice producing countries of the world.
Processing to meet international standard of various classes of food is next. To prevent fake products, on this we seek various “Administration’s” partnership and intervention to enter into rural areas and assist in building capacity on the importance and essence of Food Processing as summaries in our course outline. If this novel project (Capacity Building in Food Processing Tech) is ignored foreigners will buy our farm produce, process and send them back to us at enormous cost.
The proposal is to cover the six (6) geopolitical zones of Nigeria. Our target audience includes and not limited to Youth of various classes. Graduate startups, micro, small and medium processors in Food Production.
In our Partnership with Prison Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) we WUFAS AGRONet offered free Demonstrative Seminars on Food Processing .
The followings are our cost centres.
Event halls in all states of each Geopolitical zone.
Logistics
Material cost
Accommodation/lodging
Radio/TV gingles
Handbook
We project that at least 5000 trainees per zone. We can make appreciable impact, ours is a novel project specifically on Food Processing Technology.
Attached is our course outline
Thanks

TYPES OF COLD CHAINS
-SHOCK FREEZERS
Shock Freezers are professional equipment that controls temperature necessary for keeping products fresh for a long time.
While preserving the products the equipment makes to keep undamaged nutritional value of the products after being defrosted. The equipment is made to consists of Double Stage Semi Hermatic compressors. The Shock freezers system allows to lower the temperature very rapidly up to -180°C degrees. Freezing is provided by air coolers of it by blowing over fronted surface of the wagon. This enables to freeze down quickly in cold air flow. The room air should not exceed 35°/-40.°C. Besides, it’s proven to be a low-waste and environment friendly system.
COLDSTORAGE
This system is manufactured and installed with the entire components like it is ready to use. It could be of mobile device.
This system can be disassembled so it can be moved to other places.
Cold storage consist of the following levels and types of preserving:
-Cold-rooms 🙁 +16° / +5°C)
-Cold storage Rooms (+5°/-5°C)
-Freezing Rooms : (-18°/-23°C)
-Shock freezer :(-35°/-40°C) .
DEEPFREEZE ROOMS.
These are for preserving products such as meat, poultry etc. For a long time. They are preserved under temperatures not exceeding – 18°/-23°C. In order to isolate these rooms 150mm width sandwich panels are used.
COLD ROOMS
Cold rooms are used to keep baked goods, chocolates etc.
The cold rooms prevent bacteria from growing. Low ventilation allows workers to work without endangering their health which is very important aspect too.
