The caption above depicts the mentality of remaining in a state of complacency. Where people are irritable and paranoid schizophrenia to progressive changes and ideas that might cause initial pains , however, the idioms of “No pain , No gain” remains relevant to all issues.
THE BLESSED LAND
Africa is a land that pleases the divine. Nature has been very kind in all ramifications to her – the warmth, the cold, and the rains have been very clement, with vast arable land, exotic fruits and vegetables coming up in due saeson with exciting minerals resources as uranium, gold, silver, aluminium, gas, petroleum crude etc not much is heard of winter, typhoon, landslide, monsoon, volcanoes, tsunami , hurricanes and other catastrophic occurrences. The people are left with no major challenges that tasked their innate intellectual capacity and ingenuity in the development of the natural resources .
All they give back is complaints galore, enslaved by the comfort zone, the foreigners came in and kleptomanially deprived them of their possession but couldn’t see, all they want is to remain complacent.
Currently, in Nigeria, over 95% of technologies driving the economy are imported even food value chain within their means are ignored for the imported .
THE OTHER CLIME.
Paradoxically, the beings from the other side with horrendous weather conditions and catastrophic geology were kept on their toes ,thinking ‘outside’ the box to bring comfort and sanity to their inclement weather conditions which the Africans tooķ for granted.

R&D — The act of digging deep into existence is sacrosanct to development.

Grissom died two years later on January 27, 1967 as member of the crew of what could have been the first manned Apollo Mission. In a fire inside their spacecraft on land. The cause of Apollo disaster (on the ground) of January 27 1967 which killed Virgil Grissom, Edward White and Lt.Cdr. Roger Chaffe was never ascertained. “The Encyclopedia of Space Travel” reported that an investigation board made an exhaustive inquiry but couldn’t come to explicity cause of the fire. The fire broke out while the men were sitting inside the space craft , spent 15 seconds burning them up and went out. Yet the Apollo series continued ferrying man eventually to the moon.
As a result of space probing,weather forecasting has become much less of a guessing game. Today’s 24 hour forecast have same accuracy of above 85%. . Minerals and petroleum deposits are deciphered from photographs taken from outer space by the use of sensors and cameras from remote sensing satellites known as Landsat. The above confirm the saying that necessity is the mother of invention.
So many other landmark inventions had occured in their search for better living in all human endeavours.
● OPTICIANS — Currently, the blind can now see through technologically engineered spectacle (glasses) amongst many others.
Achieving all these is not unconnected with utmost denials overtime and focus.
● In NIGERIA, a regional government took charge with a progressive programme that inundated the expectation of the people by encouraging massive productivity in agricultural produce such as plantations of Rubber, Cocao, Oil palm , Colanut , Fruits and vegetables etc and fixing infrastructural facilities in rural areas, aportioning appropriate taxes on businesses , personal taxes, vehiclers etc. Within a short while, development in all spheres and phases were visible such as free education, infrastructural development, Industrialisation, the first television in station in Africa and quality population ensured, up till now his government remains of an utopian class.– He was Chief Obafemi Awolowo.
●— Another man took over governance from an aberrated regime, after crossing many hurdles he left with resounding success and a succession plan that is uncommon in his state ditto to the country.
He is currently stirring to fix the giant landscape of Africa.
•His first attempt was pulling down a five decade old ‘Oil Subsidy’ monster / scam to clott the bleeding economy ( since 1973- todate ).
• Instituting 500billion Naira palliative for 12million vulnerable families with 8,000Naira each. whereas, SouthAfrica could afford only 1,800 Rand for her disabled.
• He gave a comprehensive plan to achieve Food Security by declaring state of emergency on it . A move to improve on the hitherto abysmally low Human Development Index HDI of 186 of the global 189.
— 500, 000hectres of arable land and several thousand more are to be developed . This will provide job opportunities for the teeming youthful population. Like it happened in China where about 800million where lifted above poverty.
• Unification of exchange rate a move that was thumped up even by IMF. Amongst many others.
With all these in place, it’s an indication of an uncommon governance which will change forever our systems for the better.
• Palliatives measures were giving to businesses in form of loans with low interest rates amongst others.
However, inhabitants of comfort zones will not appreciate efforts towards the upliftment of the society.
● Nothing good comes so easy.

EXITING POVERTY
China was crowned the POVERTY capital of the world between 1990 – 2013 , passing over the crown to India. China took advantage of the Western world and Japan who flooded China with their industrial technological productivity due to the cheap labour cost (sweat shops.) in China. The Chinese learnt the ROPES and started developing their own MSMES in manufacturing and got involved in infrastructural development of construction (construction which Nigeria is currently into) by 2013 and beyond China is now World power.
INDIA
The poor India of then worked hard to become INCREDIBLE INDIA.
The Incredible India had over time upgraded herself for the future by taking education very seriously in the 1960-70s, At the emergence of IT she latched into it’s development in the 60s.
In agriculture
India started importation of hybrid cereal grains of wheat, rice etc from the West for agricultural production .
In India today they are self sufficient in grains, same goes for pharmacology and manufacturing. Today, Indians are controlling almost all institutions globally from Banks, IT, Digital technology, Space technology, Health, and many other sectors. The Incredible India is only next to China in creativity and investment globally..
Nigeria (the current title holder in the poverty arena) blessed with huge population of enlighten teeming youthful population in ICT, Medics, and many other sectorial strength must look inwards to develop their own rather than Japa. I see Nigeria becoming greater than the aforementioned nations if only we can learn from the above nations.

DRUG AWARENESS AND PREVENTION
There is need to have a steely resolve to challenge the narratives at NDLEA. The authorities at the helms believe that the war against drugs abuse is Winnable with determination to break the stranglehold.

Cocaine, Methamphetamine and Heroin are pretty expensive but not cannabis grown locally and quite inexpensive. 70%. (about 106 million) of drugs abuse use cannabis they smoke it, eat it, drink it and even snort it.
The country needs more councelling and help centers with more rehab centers. The clergy (Christian, Muslim) should setup rehab including communities, traditional institution, media, everyone including celebrities.
SOLUTIONS
The campaign “War Against Drug Abuse ” (WADA) be carried to family members, communities, at LG. levels and. States, school systems and Drug free clubs in schools.
Advocacy to traditional institutions and religious institutions.
There is dearth of rehabilitation centers, set up call centers to address stigmas. Drug testing before admission to school, before employment or before running for political office, before wedding for documentation just like HIV, genotype instead of one chance scenerio is very important.

THE TEXTILE lndustries are in a strait and need serious surgical operation and assistance from the Federal government and stakeholders to bounce back. About 20 years ago we had about 180 factories but currently less than 20 are operating below 23% of installed capacity, the reason is not unconnected with Federal government’s liberalization policy on import into the country that allows anything to come in and compete with local production from Asia.
Before the liberalization, the industry could boast about 500,000 jobs, the textile produces 100% cotton which is affordable for all. WufasAgronet is using this medium to appeal to the Nigeria Custom Service NCS and Standard Organization of Nigeria SON to rise up and protect the industry from importation of substandard products. Also with the advent of AFCFTA dumping of substandard products must be stopped.
Currently, the industry will only come to reconning if it can surmount the following hurdles, power supply, cost of imputs, such as fuels for powering generators, raw materials, personnels to produce at low competitive cost and price.
CBN intervention on anchor borrower scheme on cotton farming be looked into.

Enabling environment should be created for the future of Nigeria textiles industries. The potentials are there capacity and basic raw materials available. IF ONLY SUMGGLING IS CURTAILED.
