…….@Wufasagronet, we don’t know more than Food.
( We earned “FAO” Top Fan barge ).

— WUFAS AGR0NET Human Capital Development Consultancy in Food Processing Technology

Rather than being mere factory hands or casual labourers in viable MSMSE Factories 80% of which are owned by the foreigners especially the Asians. Nigeria’s teeming youthful population, unemployed graduates, propreneurs and other Food handlers should be encouraged to embrace vaiable Entrepreneurial /Empowerment skills acquisition in Food Processing Technology.

From the optics of the UN Sustainable Development 2030 Agenda .The FOOD SECURITY Tripple A ie Availability, Acceptability and Affordability are tripod stand in Food for all agenda .
ACCEPTABILITY is making the provision of good quality food available for the citizenry at all times – No Food No life – . Which dovetailed into Food Processing.

The recent thrust in agricultural farming in Nigeria must be met with capable hands to convert the various food crops to processed Foods. Investment on urban and rural populace (youths, unemployed graduates etc) and their inclusion on the thematic area of nutrition is very vital, involving them in the rudimentary ETHICS of Food Processing Technology such as water treatment, packaging, preservation, Quality control concept, Food mgt System etc. Coupled with Practical demonstrations in various classes of Foods eg Beverages, Dairy products, Oil Extraction, Cereals Technology & Milling etc . and appreciation of operational equipment(unit operations). This inclusive and functional educational system empowers youths with the capacity and skills to create or seek employment anywhere.

Towards this , Human Capital Development in Food Processing should be on the crest of international organizations such as AFDB , Fed.Govt. of Nigeria other international organisation and development partners leveraging it to sustainability. Human Capital Development must take the front burner in Food Acceptability.

Some of the solutions advanced for curbing wastages are: on – the farm storages and food processing in areas of comparative advantage of such crops. In rural areas where farming is predominantly practiced.

With adequate Empowerment in Skill acquisition entrenched in the rural areas enormous CONFIDENCE will be built in the production of on- the farm Processing of crops such as Soy foods, Rice, Tomatoes, Garri, flours from cassava, etc. Saving Food industries from fake, substandard and adulteration.

Food wastages characterized by Infrastructural deficits such as lack of storage facilities and good roads network will be eliminated.

Over time Nigeria has been rated very low in Human Capital Development this mandated the Crew Working Group (CWG) domiciled in the Vice President’s office to articulate a vision for the country to measure up with other world bodies.
Human Capital Development is generally critical in driving sustainable economic growth creating wealth, boosting productivity, and reducing poverty with an improved Human Development Index (HDI).
